Scammers are afoot

I received a call saying that I need to call back or I would be arrested. I called back and was asked for a case number and I replied that one was not included in the message. I was asked for the phone number and provided it and was then called Mr Petersen, to which I replied that there was no one at this number with that name. They promptly hung up! The background noise was that of an open call center with a large group of people doing the same thing apparently. The gentleman I spoke to had a heavily Asian english accent and seemed to be reading from a script. Someone in NY should do something about this business.

False scam call

158******** was the NY number that called me: the voicemail threatened if I don't call back immediately that i would be "placed under custody by the local police as there are 4 serious allegations on my name". Never heard of this company, searched the name, read a large amount of reviews and wanted to share my testimony as so many others were helpful.

IRS Scam

Called my cell phone to tell me that I (not using my legal name but a nickname) owed over $9000 for my 2012-**** taxes. When asked who they really were, they insisted she was calling me from the IRS ID# GS250. Gave me an address from 20 years ago and said if I didn't pay the money I owe and take this seriously, they would come arrest me and confiscate my driver's license. When I pushed her for more information she question if she was really speaking to the correct person and was I "trying to scam her" I told her I thought she was the scammer because the IRS doesn't call people on their cell phones about real matters and she hung up. I called back and got the same person who then guessed my legal name, which was wrong, and then she hung up on me again when I questioned where she was really calling from. I sent an email to the IRS to notify them. A co-worker got a similar call last week on her cell stating almost the same thing.

The best policy is to never answer phone calls coming from a number you do not recognize. Your call was a common scam.

Yes, this is a common scam, and they may even say "IRS" on your caller ID

Knowingly hosts phone scammers

I have had 3 phone calls from numbers claiming to be with the IRS. Scam callers. When I called the number back asking for their business contact information they would hang up on me. I tried this multiple times with all three phone numbers. I then tried to contact Ymax and all they did was hang up on me when I explained the problem to them, identified myself, and asked for their contact person. I have called Ymax twice and got the same result. I have turned this over to the Florida Attorney General's office and have attempted to contact the New York Attorney General's office. I am also turning this over to a local TV station's investigative team to see if they can get some action.

607-595-****An auto-call claiming they are from the IRS and "you will be prosecuted if you do not take action by calling this number because of a number of cases against you". mine was "4" cases. Sad that someone out there will be scammed by these idiots and they are probably doing it within legal limits.

What a joke

Received two calls today from +1 (21*) 960-**** & +1 (85*) 615-****. Picked up the one number and it was a lady looking for an ex of mine from over 10 years ago, said โ€œI was listed as a contact โ€œ which was impossible , said that they would go ahead with court proceedings etc without him and that he would have fraud charges against for lying about using me as a contact. I googled the numbers and it all comes back to this, itโ€™s a joke, scammers.

IRS SCAM

Today April 20, 2018 this real person called 4 times in a row with #858-224-**** finally answering the call. Scammed my mother by telling her the IRS Has a Warrant out for her arrest for monies due.

Stayed on the phone with her til she went and purchased 2 Walmart cards. And demanded the # off the back of cards. After doing so. She was scared.

Cuz when she returned home they asked if she was there and alone. So she got back in her car and went to the police station. Where she handed the phone to the officer. And they spoke to the scammer.

Police then told them that they are turning this. Umber over to the FBI for investigation. And then ended the call. The call lasted nearly 1 hr and 13 minutes.

Police told her to return to Walmart to stop the 2nd card because the 1st card has been used up. Halfway thru cancelling the card. With 1/2of the monies already used. The Scammer was trying to use the card.

Since the card was cancelled The scammer began calling her again using #000-000-0000. For at least an hour also by calling her with 911 as the number that was trying to contact her.

She had returned to the police station again. And they answered the 911 call and the scammer said he was turning it over to his lawyer.

Threatened with arrest

I got a phone call from a phone registered to YMax Communications and the call threatened me with an arrest by FBI if I didn't call back due to 4 outstanding issues with the IRS. Then today I get another call saying that agents have been dispatched.

Called local FBI field office and they will do nothing.

They know it is a scam and that it has been going on for several years and they would not even take a report.

There needs to be a way to stop these people especially if they are from an organized company. Arrest their president, take away their business license..do something
